Bo Butner and the #JHGDriven team eager to build on power surge after Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (April 3, 2022) – Bo Butner knows what it feels like to win in Las Vegas, and he came into this season's rendition of the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals with the knowledge that he was fully capable of claiming another trophy in Sin City. This time, it was not to be – but Butner and his faithful Johnson's Horsepowered Garage team are excited to capitalize on the progress they saw at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

"How we ran in qualifying, that was really exciting for this team," said Butner, who came into raceday as the No. 3 qualifier, his best starting position so far this year. "We tested before we came to this race, and we made some good runs here that really started to show what we're capable of. Today was fun. This whole weekend was enjoyable, and we like going rounds. It just gets you pumped up for that next race."

In the first round of eliminations at the unique four-wide event, Butner came up against Dallas Glenn, Chris McGaha, and Fernando Cuadra Sr. Butner's 6.688-second pass at 205.91 mph was second best in his quad, which allowed him to advance to the second of three rounds along with Glenn.

Round two brought about a meeting with Kyle Koretsky, Mason McGaha and Glenn. There, Butner's 6.747, 203.40 was not quite enough, but his spirits were not dampened. The next race on the tour happens to be the NHRA SpringNationals in Houston, where Butner claimed his first win in 2017 and kicked off a terrific run that concluded with his first Pro Stock world championship.

"Houston is a great place for us, and you never forget that first win," said Butner. "We didn't make up the ground that we wanted to this weekend, but it was great to have Jason Johnson here with us, and every time you win a round with your sponsor and friend there, it just feels great. We want to do that again in Houston, but a few more times. I see great things for this team, and it's just awesome to have Jason and his wife, Nikki, behind us 100%."

The next Pro Stock race on the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series tour will be the NHRA SpringNationals in Houston, April 22-24.
