Raceday in Seattle dawns with another chance at greatness for Bo Butner and the #JHGDriven team

Raceday in Seattle dawns with another chance at greatness for Bo Butner and the #JHGDriven team

SEATTLE (July 30, 2022) – So far this year, Bo Butner has been left without something that he desires very much: a Pro Stock win for the Johnson's Horsepowered Garage Chevrolet Camaro. On Sunday at Pacific Raceways, the 2017 Pro Stock world champion and 11-time winner in the category hopes to rectify that situation.

"We know it's coming, that good day that we've been chasing, and it isn't a lack of effort," said Butner, who is qualified in the No. 9 position at the NHRA Northwest Nationals. "We have a great group effort going on here, and we all want the same thing. It's just a matter of time, but I'd sure like that time to be tomorrow."

Butner opened qualifying with a 6.695-second pass at 207.56 mph and improved on it in the early session on Saturday. His 6.640, 207.82 moved him up from 11 to the No. 9 spot, where he stayed through the final qualifying round. He will race Fernando Cuadra Jr. in the first round of eliminations.

Butner has been a top-half qualifier in each of the last two races as a result of hard work testing both on and off the racetrack. His #JHGDriven crew have been relentless in their pursuit of well-applied power and positive results, and he doesn't expect them to let up even after the corner has been turned.

"It's amazing to see how determined this team is," said Butner, who qualified a season-best No. 3 in Las Vegas and understands the capabilities of the JHG Chevy.

"We're just as excited for Sunday as ever, and even though our sponsors, Jason and Nikki Johnson, aren't here with us this weekend, we want to win this trophy for them. It's a really cool experience to have them cheering for us and watching, and we would just love to put the Seattle trophy in their hands.

"We might need a little luck to go along with the determination we have, but we're optimistic and we're excited. We'd like to get it done."

Final eliminations for the Flav-R-Pac NHRA Northwest Nationals are scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 31, 2022 beginning at 10:30 a.m. PT.
